Had high hopes for this place but left underwhelmed, disappointed. I probably would not go back

- scallop (though u may want to love scallop)
- wine, if u love it this is the spot
- dessert (especially the creme fraiche pana cotta, the chocolate dessert is ok)

- potato and cauliflower salad

- beef and brisket dish $30 despite bacon + brussel sprouts
- soup, clear broth type ish with veggies, I thought it was a thick vegetable soup
- portions are small
- expensive
- loud as hell, I guess it is a busy restaurant which bodes well for the owner/investor
- don't park by the overpass.. it's a homeless camp.. park on the other side of Mission or just valet it I dunno

Nombe

A bit mixed but would go back

- tuna sashimi (rolled up in balls and seaweed)
- black cod w/ spinach, fennel, leek, and miso
- grilled pork belly skewer

- fried chicken wings (as good as O Izakaya :-) although my friend didn't like it

- Pork belly with shichimi togarashi
- Potatoes with wild nori, ponzu and scallion
- roasted beets tossed with nothing more than a tingle of freshly grated wasabi and a rustic
- warming stew of pork spare ribs in a black bean broth (as in black soy beans)
- agedashi tofu fried just right (lightly) and piled with bonito flake
- shiso yakimono
- salad of fried calamari tossed with fresh mizuna.
- halibut sashimi on thinly sliced fennel, with hijiki seaweed, grapefruit and sesame seeds
- ramen and
- 11 pm-and-on late-night street food menu

- warm kabocha mochi cake with toasted almonds (soft but not too mushy; luscious and slightly sweet)
- the azuki bean ice cream with banana caramel

Roy's

Used to love this place, the food is decent but it's pricey.. recently had a bit of a mixed experience with inconsistent portion :-(

There is a heavy Asian influence (some may find that off-putting)

Spicy food served here, beware. I much prefer Basil Thai
